Fact-Check: The National Archives Did Not Flag the Constitution for Harmful Language: Site Link - PDF Link

Info:

The Fact-checking website Misbar was expanding from the MENA region to the US. So it needed US-specific fact checks and opinion pieces that used facts to argue certain points. The company hired me to research and write these pieces. I ultimately ended up writing hundreds of fact-checks and dozens of opinion pieces for the website. Some of these became the most-read pieces on their site in the months that they were published, and successfully introduced the brand to US readers.

The fact check listed above, regarding the US Constitution, is a perfect example of how I was able to produce content that boosted reach. It all started when I noticed a number of far-right lawmakers complaining about the National Archives labeling the US Constitution for harmful language. I decided to investigate the claim further and noticed that the harmful language banner was implemented sitewide, even on the homepage, meaning that no one had flagged the Constitution, or any one item in the archive, as being harmful. I was the first one to identify this fact, beating a number of rivals, such as Snopes. Incidentally, Snopes has also referenced some of my fact-checks in their own fact-checking pieces.
